Michael & Yenmy – Calgary Winter Wedding

It is wonderful when you meet someone that you have something in common with.  Rafael being a new immigrant to Canada felt right at home when he met Yenmy, who her herself was also a new immigrant to Canada, and the best part about it all is that they both spoke the same language.  Rafael is from the Dominican Republic and Yenmy is from Venezuela, but when you are Latino, you are Latino, it doesn’t matter what country you are from.  You are one in the same. Trust me one is able to create a stronger bond when you speak the same language.

Of course when Yenmy and Michael asked us to photograph their winter wedding in Calgary we were super excited.  Now this was to be a very intimate wedding as a matter of fact less than 15 people.  Just the very close immediate family was there.  Good things come in small packages…

The day was chilly but beautiful.  With a white layer of snow covering the ground and the trees and no wind, you couldn’t have asked for a better day.  The day started with some family photos and then we moved on to the formal photos, which I will admit we did do quickly but only because the bride was freezing lol.  Ceremony, Cocktails and Dinner followed all of which was held in the quaint little downtown restaurant in Calgary called Q Haute Restaurant.
