So Excited to Share some of the Sneak Peeks from our 2nd Annual Breastfeeding Photo Project. This was officially the second time we have done this and I couldn’t be more happy with the results. This year we choose Fall, as I had kind of dropped the ball and summer was so busy we never got around to doing it sooner. Weather was a bit chilly but these gorgeous woman toughed it out! This year we decided to go with a slightly different colour theme, because it is Fall time here in Canada which means beautiful Fall colours including, orange, yellow, brown, red among other colours so we tried to do a Fall neutral colour scheme. Needless to say this years photo was a bit more colourful than last years, but I loved it! Maybe next year we will do Spring!
This amazing project and photos would not have happened without all of the 16 Gorgeous Women and Babies that were involved in our project, among many others like our 2 beautiful make up artists Sarika and Lucero, our florist/stylist Lori Harahap, along with our videographer Jose Soriano and amazing photographer Rafael Codio and of course the ideas by myself Charlene.
Why do a photo like this? To celebrate women and babies and the bond that is created breastfeeding our children. To help normalize breastfeeding in public. To let people know that it is okay and it is something natural. To share breathtaking images of mothers and babies. To encourage more mothers to breastfeed. To not be afraid to breastfeed especially out in public. To encourage women to ask for help if you want it. To share friendships between mothers. To capture and preserve these memories for the women involved. To celebrate the normalization of breastfeeding. So many reasons why we enjoy doing this project and I plan to do one or two every year for as long as I want! I am super passionate about breastfeeding and helping other mothers breastfeed if they so wish to do so. I have breastfed all 4 of my children and not once every been embarrassed or nervous to do so especially out in public. This is what I chose for my children and a mother’s choice is always best and should be supported. I also wanted to selfishly have beautiful images of my last baby and me in this super intimate bonding moment and I wanted to share it with other women!
Fed is always best no matter how we feed our babies, it is just important that you are giving them the very best you can no matter what way you choose!
