So Excited to Share some of the Sneak Peeks from our 2nd Annual Breastfeeding Photo Project. This was officially the second time we have done this and I couldn’t be more happy with the results. This year we choose Fall, as I had kind of dropped the ball and summer was so busy we never got around to doing it sooner. Weather was a bit chilly but these gorgeous woman toughed it out! This year we decided to go with a slightly different colour theme, because it is Fall time here in Canada which means beautiful Fall colours including, orange, yellow, brown, red among other colours so we tried to do a Fall neutral colour scheme. Needless to say this years photo was a bit more colourful than last years, but I loved it! Maybe next year we will do Spring!
This amazing project and photos would not have happened without all of the 16 Gorgeous Women and Babies that were involved in our project, among many others like our 2 beautiful make up artists Sarika and Lucero, our florist/stylist Lori Harahap, along with our videographer Jose Soriano and amazing photographer Rafael Codio and of course the ideas by myself Charlene.
Why do a photo like this? To celebrate women and babies and the bond that is created breastfeeding our children. To help normalize breastfeeding in public. To let people know that it is okay and it is something natural. To share breathtaking images of mothers and babies. To encourage more mothers to breastfeed. To not be afraid to breastfeed especially out in public. To encourage women to ask for help if you want it. To share friendships between mothers. To capture and preserve these memories for the women involved. To celebrate the normalization of breastfeeding. So many reasons why we enjoy doing this project and I plan to do one or two every year for as long as I want! I am super passionate about breastfeeding and helping other mothers breastfeed if they so wish to do so. I have breastfed all 4 of my children and not once every been embarrassed or nervous to do so especially out in public. This is what I chose for my children and a mother’s choice is always best and should be supported. I also wanted to selfishly have beautiful images of my last baby and me in this super intimate bonding moment and I wanted to share it with other women!
Fed is always best no matter how we feed our babies, it is just important that you are giving them the very best you can no matter what way you choose!

Today we photographed a few lovely families at this beautiful lush green location. All the children, and adults were so easy to work with and we love how the photos turned out! If you would like to book a session with CODIO Photography, visit us at http://www.codiophotography.com
Today truly was an amazing day spent with Alix, Sascha and their families. First just a little back history that makes this event even more extraordinarily amazing. Back in 2013, we first met Alix’s brother when we photographed his wedding in Airdrie Alberta, and then in 2014 we photographed her other brothers wedding in Banff Alberta so of course when we found out that now Alix was getting married in 2017, we knew that we had to be there to photograph this special day. Now having spent 3 weddings with this particular family, we do really feel as if we are a part of their lovely family. From the first moment we met them back in 2013, they have welcomed us and treated us just as you would your own family. Of course now since having photographed all of their weddings, we are now close friends with the whole crew. You have to admit photographing 3 out of the 4 children’s weddings in one family is pretty cool!
Back to Alix and Sascha, no words to describe these two other than they are perfect for each other. One would definitely say that they were meant to be. When the two of them are together you can just feel the love radiating all around them. This day was quite the adventure. We started off with the getting ready photos in Airdrie, and then from there headed off to Cochrane for the Ceremony that they wanted in a particular church there with a particular special Father. After the Ceremony we photographed the family in the beautiful gardens of the Church and then from there we headed off to Kananaskis for photos of the Bride, Groom and wedding party. Previously we had spoken about where we should go for wedding photos and after the having expressed some interested with having photos in the mountains and hearing about the love these two had for the mountains, we decided that we just had to make it happen. Since we were only about 40 minutes away from beautiful Kananaskis, we figured there was no way we could Not Go there even if it meant we had to rush just a little bit. Off we went to Kananaskis for formal wedding photos and I am so glad we did because it was one of the most Beautiful Fall days one could have asked for. After finishing up with photos, we rushed back to Airdrie for the Reception which took place at Apple Creek Golf Course (another one of our favorite places)! The rest of the night we spent enjoying the amazing company of these two families. We are so honoured to have been a part of this special day and capture all of the beautiful photos we did for Alix and Sascha! We wish them a lifetime of love and happiness! Thank you for choosing us as your wedding photographers!
I am absolutely in Love with Randi’s wedding dress. I seriously cannot stop looking at it. It has to be one of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen! Now Dan and Randi, we have loved all of the time spent with you and your family, from family photos a few years ago to engagement session and now finally photographing this amazing once in a lifetime day, your wedding day. For a Roof Top Wedding in Calgary Alberta, Mother Nature was sure kind to us. I am not going to complain about how hot it was, because it could have been many other things, but Mother Nature was definitely looking out for us. This wedding day was like a fairytale, on the top of the Marriott Hotel in Downtown Calgary, overlooking beautiful downtown, Randi and Dan said I Do’s!!!
After our Stunning Bride, their beautiful little man definitely stole the show! He is so sweet and was so well behaved the whole day! For formal photos we went off to Princess Island Park and then followed that up with some photos on Stephen’s Avenue in downtown Calgary. Love the hustle and bustle of this street in the summer time.
The beautiful elegant reception was held at the Marriott Hotel and everything was perfect from the food to the decorations to the first dance! We are so honoured that these two chose us to capture their special day! Wishing you all of the best and an amazing life full of love and adventure together!
